Name Description

 Jo Bain

I joined CGS PTA in September 2010 and I have two children in Year 9 and 11 at CGS.  I am a part-time yoga teacher and Facilitator of Teaching Assistant training programs.  Currenty I am studying anatomy and Physiology which will lead to a course in Pilates.  In the last year I have taken up Tai Chi ('karate for old, slow people' I've been told!) and I have gained my licence for walking (of the Nordic variety).  My computer/tennis mad husband and our cute bunny called Trouble complete the family.

My daughter is in year 9 and transferred to CGS in year 8.  Coming from another school we are so appreciative of the opportunities available at CGS as well as the friendly and creative atmosphere.  I'm a 'new recruit' to the CGS Friends and the ladies have been very welcoming, I've taken on small jobs which I can fit in alongside my job as the Speech Therapy Manager for Buckinghmshire NHS Trust and despite living relatively far way from the school.  I am also a champion and media volunteer for a charity called Changing Faces. In my spare time I enjoy various antics with my sister from theatre trips to zombie runs!

Liz Brindley
(Student Rep)

I started helping out with the PTA  when I joined the school six years ago, and I recently gained the title of the Student Representative. My job is to liaise between the PTA and the student body, with my main goal being to give the students a voice in deciding how the money we raise is spent. When I'm not dealing with school work or tasks for the PTA I enjoy a good book, long walks, outings with my rather loud friends and experimenting with new recipes and old favourites in the kitchen. Later on this year I'll be hopping out of the nest to study Primary Teaching at University.

I joined the PTA about five years ago, when my youngest daughter joined the school. All three of my kids were at Chesham Grammar then, so I couldn't avoid joining any more! Josie is now in year 11, my daughter Liz is now in year 13 and my son Jamie left the school last year. I love animals; we have two cats, tropical fish and I go horse riding once a week. My husband Richard is often roped into helping run the bar at events.

Sarah Hill

Son in Y12 and daughter now in third year of uni having been at CGS.  PTA member for 6 years and had lots of fun doing it.

Jacqui Langley

Joined CGS in September 2014. Married with one son at CGS in year 8.  I work in administration within the security industry. Enjoy swimming, dancing and anything aerobic.  Am passionate about animal welfare and involved in charity work with the RSPCA. As well as juggling a busy work, home and school life I will always be found every weekend standing on the side-lines, supporting my sons football team Ruislip rangers under 12 B's

I joined the PTA as a new member just before my son started at CGS I felt it will be an opportunity to give something back to the school in some capacity, I try to attend as many PTA meetings as possible however due to my profession as a Funeral Director I am sometimes unable to attend, however I'm always kept in the loop by Pam.

It's a great opportunity to get involved with what's happening I would like to see more interest from other year 7 parents so come on peps come down and give it a go there's plenty to get involved with.

My son Zachary is in Year 9 at CGS.  I live in Berkhamsted and play five-aside football weekly with friends.  I love travelling and have been to the amazing beautiful countries of Myanmar (formally Burma), Iceland and Turkey recently.  I also enjoy socialising and the occasional perilous activity; paint-balling and kitesurfing.

Judith Sweetman I have been a CGS parent and PTA member since 2008 but my school uniform shopping days will soon be over as my youngest son goes into the sixth form next year.

Mel Weston (Chair)

I joined Chesham Grammar PTA in 2010 when my elder daughter Steph joined the school.  Currently have both girls here, Steph is now  in Year 12 and Jess in Year 10.  Like us all, I am kept busy by my 3 kids, am often known as the lady from ‘trumpton’ with 3 equally demanding dogs, a horse and 2 rabbits…oh and a husband, Paul.  Like most couples with busy kids, work and family commitments we are somewhat like ‘ships passing in the night’, with Steph’s football training taking us to Oxford 3 nights a week and our family life very much devoted to both county and club cricket…not forgetting being a taxi Jess’s hectic social life!  I joined the PTA to keep in the loop with what happens at secondary school and offered my skill set of events and catering background where needed.  I currently find myself in the position of chair for the PTA  and as I like to consider myself a fairly relaxed and happy individual, who likes to have fun I hope to make being on the PTA an enjoyable and not too stressful environment.  I hope to do my best on behalf of the parents and students, so I will always welcome constructive feedback
